From pregnancy to first steps
The book can begin before the birth and end at the first year, or cover a shorter span. That is yours to decide; we set the length and the rhythm accordingly.
When the photographs look alike
Newborn frames look nearly identical at first glance — a sleeping child in the same position, on the same blanket. Our job is to find what sets them apart and bring those differences to the surface: an expression, the fingers, the light, a parent’s hand in the photograph. Ten similar photographs become ten different spreads.
Why a smaller format
A small, delicate subject calls for a format to match — on a large page the detail is lost and the book feels empty. That is why we usually recommend the smaller square for baby books. The final decision comes only after we have seen the photographs, because sometimes the photographs call for the opposite.
